GENERAL INFO

Maybe a Cupcake is a labor of love...and self-care. It started back in 2009 when I was new to the social services field and helped lead an arts and crafts group in the group home I worked at. What started as one small plastic bin of supplies quickly spun into an entire croffice (craft room + office) worth of paper, stamps, pens, ink, and anything else you can imagine. I left the job, but I clearly didn't leave crafts. I now use cardmaking as one of my methods of self-care. Being a social worker means my job is high stress, so crafting is a good way to calm back down and stay grounded.

ABOUT THE CARDS

All the cards featured here were made/assembled by hand by me. I often use embellishments on the cards (stickers, rub-on transfers, glitter glue) that have been assembled by someone else, but ultimately, everything gets arranged on the card by me. I am working towards the point where I am doing more myself (I have started embossing my own paper), but it's a slow process.

Most cards are the A2 size (5.5"x4.25"); occasionally thank you cards are made in a smaller size (A1, 3 1/2" x 4 7/8"). All cards come with a matching envelope and are provided in a plastic envelope to keep them clean and tidy.

For cards made with colored cardstock, there is white cardstock provided in the interior of the card so there is space to write a message. All cards are made blank on the inside.

PURCHASING INFO

While the cards originally started as a hobby and stress-relief activity, over the years I started to receive positive feedback from family and friends who encouraged me to sell them, so I caved. I sell the cards for $3 each (less than Hallmark!), but they get cheaper if you order more (4 for $10, 10 for $20).

I keep several boxes of cards on hand, so if you see something on the website that you like, there is a decent chance I have one on hand already. All of the cards shown on this website are cards that I have made, and the majority of them can be made again if I don't have them on hand. There are a limited number of designs that would not be able to be replicated due to materials (like unique paper or embellishments) no longer being available. There have been a lot of times that I don't think to make a certain type of card (like baby shower or wedding) until someone contacts me asking for some, so if there is something you are looking for that you aren't finding, please reach out using the "Contact" option above.

In terms of payment, I accept Venmo, PayPal, or cash/check. If the cards have to be mailed, there are very minimal shipping charges (usually just enough to cover whatever I pay at the post office).
